"Observations of a Friend"

Somehow he has come to poses a silent confidence.

It moves continuously through his veins.

He functions with a subtle smile behind all expression,

Like he discerns that which you know not.

He towers larger, accepting the labor of existence,

With a vast an unconquered state of perception,

Forged by the depths of his experience.

He carries an assurance of self,

Outside of and beyond the self.

Among the trials of the living he binds:

Inspiration with inseparability,

The mundane with awe.

He composes his live extraordinary.

Giving authorship to understanding,

He seems set apart, walking to different time,

A different mind,

Of that I strive to find.
